I have been there twice. country is totally corrupted alough their people are mostly good. police, airport officials etc. will always demand bribes from you. be careful. altough i have been there with a krygz friend whom i know from university in my country, i had give bribe two times. after you arrive to manas international airport (main airport of bishkek) you will see that actually there is nothing international. you have to fill a form but it has only a russian version. basically you write how much money you have and your stuff. you should pay a few dollars to young guys there to fill the form for you if you dont know russian. when you will walk out of airport you will face with a crowd of taxi drivers trying to pull you to their own cars. taxis are totally irregular no standard. dont look so rich even at airport from begininng otherwise airport police will demand bribe immediately haha. anyway nice country altough it is corrupted. i have beem ther ebefore regime change but i dont think anyyting changed .
